Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Carrying out sampling;
- Receiving and recording samples or exhibits;
- Conducting laboratory analysis and investigation of samples and forensic exhibits;
- Supervising the Technicians in laboratory sample preparations;
- Preparing analytical test reports;
- Initiating or recommending corrective actions to improve the quality control, activities/ systems of the laboratories;
- Providing scientific testimony in the courts of law as an expert witness whenever called upon;
- Preparing periodic performance reports;
- Ensuring adherence to good laboratory practice and quality system;
- Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicants should be Ugandans in possession of Honours Bachelors’ Degree in either Chemistry, or Physics, or Geology, or Biochemistry, or Food Science, or Biomedical Laboratory Technology, or Computer Science, or Forensic Science discipline or any other equivalent qualification from a recognized University.
- Ethics and integrity; interpersonal, communication and computer skills; ability to adapt to multi-cultural settings; effective organizational and planning skills; time management skills; technical skills; report writing skills; negotiation skills; capacity for teamwork; innovation and concern for results, quality and standards.
- Age: Below 21 years
