LWF Uganda supports refugees in districts like Kamwenge, Adjumani, Moyo, Kyangwali, and Lamwo.
Job Summary:
The Project Assistant – Agro-Forestry will coordinate, supervise, and implement Agro-Forestry/Environment sector project activities, ensuring compliance with LWF policies and procedures.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordinate planning and implementation of Agro-forestry project activities.
- Collaborate with local authorities, community leaders, NGOs, and stakeholders for project implementation.
- Collect and compile field data, and assess project impact.
- Visit beneficiary sites, offer technical support, and promote local community participation.
- Mobilize, sensitize, and train communities on agroforestry and environmental management.
- Advocate for marginalized Agro-forestry interests and link them with service providers.
- Address crosscutting issues and supervise local community leadership structures.
- Prepare and submit reports on project activities and achievements.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
- A relevant degree in Forestry, Ecology, or Biology.
- 2-4 years of experience implementing agroforestry projects/activities.
- Experience in managing tree/vegetable nurseries.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with partner organizations and communicate with diverse audiences.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
- Valid riding permit.
- Integrity, self-driven, ability to work under minimal supervision.
- Strong organizational, supervisory, problem-solving, interpersonal, and communication skills.
