LWF Uganda supports refugees in districts like Kamwenge, Adjumani, Moyo, Kyangwali, and Lamwo.

Job Summary:

The Project Assistant – Agro-Forestry will coordinate, supervise, and implement Agro-Forestry/Environment sector project activities, ensuring compliance with LWF policies and procedures.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate planning and implementation of Agro-forestry project activities.
  • Collaborate with local authorities, community leaders, NGOs, and stakeholders for project implementation.
  • Collect and compile field data, and assess project impact.
  • Visit beneficiary sites, offer technical support, and promote local community participation.
  • Mobilize, sensitize, and train communities on agroforestry and environmental management.
  • Advocate for marginalized Agro-forestry interests and link them with service providers.
  • Address crosscutting issues and supervise local community leadership structures.
  • Prepare and submit reports on project activities and achievements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:

  • A relevant degree in Forestry, Ecology, or Biology.
  • 2-4 years of experience implementing agroforestry projects/activities.
  • Experience in managing tree/vegetable nurseries.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with partner organizations and communicate with diverse audiences.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
  • Valid riding permit.
  • Integrity, self-driven, ability to work under minimal supervision.
  • Strong organizational, supervisory, problem-solving, interpersonal, and communication skills.
