Watoto Child Care Ministries is a ministry of Watoto Church that rescues vulnerable children and restores dignity to them by providing holistically for their physical, spiritual and emotional needs. Watoto has operations in Kampala, Wakiso, Mpigi and Gulu.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Designs career programs according to the needs of the learners
- Conducts one-on-one sessions with the learners concerning their careers and dreams
- Rightly places technical students, guide students on selection of subject combinations /Tertiary institutions , colleges, etc and marketable trade
- Links up with resource persons/facilitators to inspire students in their fields of expertise/guide student on careers
- The jobholder also networks for exposure, trips and resource mobilization
- Conducts academic conferences/guide them on smart goals setting/revision tips/give information on value for Education
- Conducts One-on-one with students concerning their academic improvement and strategies
- Carries out Career data collection for all classes from Nursery to S.6
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicants for the Watoto Child Care Ministries School Counselor jobs should hold Diplomas/Degrees counselling or a related field.
- A minimum of two years’ experience in a school setting
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Show commitment to work within a team environment
- Keen attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills
- Good time management skills
- Ability to solve problems creatively
- Ability to work unsupervised
- High degree of flexibility, initiative and confidentiality
