Job Title:      Study Medical Doctor (2 Career Opportunities)

About US:

Epicentre is a non-government organization created by Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF) in 1987 to help improve the quality of its field interventions. Since 1996, Epicentre has been a World Health Organization (WHO) collaborating centre for research in epidemiology and response to emerging diseases. Epicentre’s work hinges around three main activity areas: clinical research, field epidemiology and training.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:  

  • Administer informed consent to persons willing to participate in the study and register patients included in the study and complete the clinical assessment of the patients at inclusion.
  • Tasked with clinical management and referral and follow up of sick participants during interim and routine follow up visits.
  • Ensure accurate completion of study documents including logs and case report form (CRF) in accordance to GCP at enrollment and during the follow-up.
  • Render support the PIs in the implementation of the studies and ensuring that procedures are followed according to protocol
  • The incumbent will also validate all inclusions in the studies and ensure that all clinical and biological testing required by the study have been done at inclusion and during the follow-up.
  • Perform any other tasks as required by the PI and the MSF/Epicentre Director.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 

  • The applicant must hold a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB.)
  • Full registration with the Uganda Medical and dental Practitioners’ Council (UMDPC), current practicing license.
  • Previous experience in clinical research preferred.
  • Fluent in English and Runyankore, spoken and written
  • Personal Competencies: teamwork, flexibility, commitment and service, knowledge of MS Office.
