The Most At Risk Populations (MARPs) Network is a not-for-profit Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) whose purpose is “to serve as a platform for MARPs voices through facilitating coordinated response at national level in Uganda.”
Job Summary: The Knowledge Management Team Leader will be responsible for developing and operationalising the M&E framework. The incumbent will be tasked with developing a research agenda and systematically documenting and publishing MNL’s interventions.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning:
- In charge of identifying and securing funding and resource opportunities to support departmental activities.
- Tasked with analysing research and writing summaries of research/evidence in an appropriate style and language for all audiences.
- Develop digests of substantial pieces of research by critically appraising research reports, articles and proposals.
- Responsible for collating and coordinating comments on research reports.
- Identify emerging practices, best practices, and innovations and share same across the Partnership.
- Put in place a routine best practice of conducting lessons learned-sessions.
- Monitor and evaluate the progress of projects and the use of grants.
Research and Documentation:
- Systematically identify, support Peer-lead interventions to deliver high quality impactful programmes.
- Work closely with all departments to produce content for onlinelearning platforms.
- Facilitate communications between network members and MNL via social media.
- Develop a culture of collaboration and sharing among the key stakeholders.
- Develop and implement MNL’s Knowledge Information Management strategy and systems.
- Establish research priorities; identify capacity building needs, building an evidence base for KP project models and approaches.
- Ensure members’ profiles are accurately represented and updated on MNL websites.
- Offer support for project communications and help to organize learning events.
- Coordinate development of communication materials for internal and external narrative of MNL effectiveness and learning.
- Develop and operationalise MNL’s information management system.
- Manage publications and information dissemination throughout the MARPs Network.
- Participate in the overall management and co-ordination of MNL’s ICT infrastructure.
- Tasked with organising and participating in conferences, seminars and workshops.
- Perform any other additional responsibilities and projects as assigned, including administrative and planning functions.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The ideal candidate for the Knowledge Management Team Leader job placement should hold an Undergraduate Degree in Business Administration, Social Sciences, Development Studies, Information Communications Technology, or any other related discipline.
- Possession of a Master’s degree in Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning.
- Possession of a Post Graduate diploma in related discipline is an added advantage.
- At least five years’ experience in developing, conducting and supervising Humans subjects research.
- Knowledge Management training / and or experience.
- Excellent document editing, formatting and publication skills.
- Contemporary and progressive ICT skills.
- Experience in developing and using competency frameworks for technical staff.
- Webinar development and facilitation.
- Experience in formation and nurturing of virtual communities of practices/networks
- Experience in dealing with KP related issues in development.
- Using well designed search terms to retrieve relevant data from online data repositories.
- Website and publication design.
- IT skills in word-processing, email and file management, spreadsheets, database management and sourcing information using the web or web-based databases.
- Administration and self-organisation.
- Self-directed collaboration with others towards a pre-defined goal
- Ability to analyse problems or information systematically and in depth
- Openness to new experiences, an enquiring approach to what you know already and an eagerness to learn more.
- Facilitation skills.
