About US:
Lutheran World Federation (LWF) is part of the Lutheran World Federation Department for World Service (LWF-DWS), an international humanitarian and development agency. LWF Uganda works to reduce people’s vulnerability, supporting them to realize their potential, to build on their assets, and to respond to their own problems and needs. LWF Uganda currently has five areas of operation in Pader, Kitgum, Adjumani, Katakwi, Sembabule, Kampala and Kamwenge Districts. LWF World Service partners include Lutheran Churches and their related agencies, the European Commission (ECHO), the US Government (BPRM) and UNHCR among others, with whom LWF World Service is a key implementing partner.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The ideal candidate for the LWF Emergency Officer job placement should hold a Bachelor’s Degree or higher in International Development Studies or related field
- Two years’ experience in proposal writing and grant management
- Strong writing and editing skills
- Proposal Development skills
- Exceptional planning, organizing and problem solving skills
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to work effectively with others on a team and proven team skills
- Good interpersonal, organizational, and communications skills
- Ability to manage budgets and review financial reports
- Emergency Response Coordination skills
