Job Summary: The Credit Analyst will analyze all credit applications above the Branch limit, making sure that write-ups and documentation are as per credit policy.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the analysis of all credit applications sent in from the branches to the sanctioning authorities, making sure the required documentation is in place and advise branches on credit processes and procedures.
- Ensure all Credit requests from Business Units are reviewed in line with the Bank’s credit review process, risks identified and possible mitigants put forward to the business units to mitigate those risks in regard to loan applications
- Analyze credit performance of the business units/branches and advise the supervisor on possible solutions to credit challenges.
- Prepare weekly and monthly relevant credit reports.
- Monitor the Banks PAR on a daily, weekly and monthly basis, detecting early warning signs of possible default AND advise the unit accordingly .
- Train Bank staff in credit processes and procedures, make branch visits to check and ensure proper credit processes are being followed.
- Conduct credit analysis on Payroll lending in line with the approval limits
- Prepare weekly and monthly reports to the Assistant Manager Credit Control.
- Receive all disbursement documents for approved loans from branches to be delivered to the supervisor for documentation and follow up until the facility is advanced.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The Credit Analyst must hold a Bachelor’s degree in economics, statistics and any business related degree.
- Professional accounting or audit qualification (an added advantage).
- Three years in credit assessment and approval processes.
- Good communication skills (oral and written)
- Strong analytical skills in order to make the most appropriate credit decisions based on the risk level.
- Detail oriented
