Job Summary: The Project Manager – Livelihoods and Cash Project takes responsibility of programmatic and operational deliverables of the project in the DCA geographical areas of operation. The manager shall ensure effective project implementation, budget management and reporting needs in line with the requirements of DanChurchAid, the consortium lead organisation (Mercy Corps) and the donor. He/she will also be responsible for quality control of all deliverables including coordination of project activities. Further, the PM will represent DCA in relevant sector meetings, coordinate and maintain close links to consortium members, UNHCR and OPM. Key roles include; ensure compliance to DCA and donor systems, effective team management and supervision of project staff, promote accountability and PSEA, ensure effective and efficient use of resources within the project, contribute to development of similar projects, develop and maintain effective working relationships with all relevant stakeholders at a district level (consortium members, government and non-government) in order to promote effective coordination, visibility, and appropriate engagement.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Responsible for the overall management and achievements of the project. Ensure implementation of the project as per the contractual obligations outlined in the contract between DCA and the lead agency, including planning, implementation, monitoring and reporting.
  • Lead and ensure technical excellence of project implementation in livelihoods and cash-based interventions.
  • Oversee and coordinate relevant assessments, reviews, evaluations, learning events and service providers.
  • Collaborate closely with other DCA staff to ensure compliance to the Core Humanitarian Standards, a human rights based approach, PSEA and gender mainstreaming.
  • Undertake regular monitoring and quality assurance of project activities and results and budget expenditure.
  • Write and produce monthly, annual narrative and financial reports for the project
  • Actively participate in and contribute to all networks, sector meetings that are relevant to the project in Bidibidi refugee settlement.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 

  • The ideal candidate for the DanChurchAid (DCA) Project Manager – Livelihoods and Cash Project job opportunity should a Master’s degree in Agriculture, social science or Business development related field.
  • Eight years of practical experience of managing humanitarian projects with a good track record of effectively leading a team of more than five staff in an INGO setting.
  • Good track record in networking and coordination including leading of sector working groups/clusters
  • Extensive experience of agro business and market facilitation, cash based interventions, , supporting systemic change among beneficiaries is a must
  • Experience of mobilizing and working with farmers using the farmer field school approach.
  • Previous experience of working in emergency response
  • Knowledge of CHS and other accountability mechanisms
  • Experience in Mobile Monitoring Technology (MMT)
  • Experience of working with groups to develop and maintain IGAs and VSLAs
