ROKO Construction Limited was founded in 1969 and is today one of Uganda’s leading Construction and Civil Engineering Groups. The late Max Rohrer and Rainer Kohler, with 50 years combined experience in Africa, made a commitment to assist in Uganda’s prosperity and development when they founded ROKO. Together with technical and commercial directors and over 40 qualified civil and site engineers, Rohrer and Kohler led ROKO to the forefront of the construction industry to emerge as the principal contractor in Uganda, and by 2001, we operated only in Uganda and Tanzania but Uganda has now developed to be a hub for activities in neighbouring countries and we have now heavily invested in Rwanda, Eastern Congo and South Sudan.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Verify the entries posted by junior accountants tor accuracy
- Handle accounts payable reconciliations
- Handle Bank Reconciliations of local currency and foreign currency
- Handle filling VAT, PAYE, WHT, NSSF, LST and IT returns
- Processing payments to suppliers
- Perform any other work assigned from time to time
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant for the ROKO Construction Limited Senior Accountant job must hold graduate qualification in Accounts
- CPA or ACCA completed
- Post graduate qualifications will be an added advantage.
- Five years of experience in accounting
- Hands on experience in tally, advanced skills in MS Excel and knowledge of tax laws and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) are preferred
