Job Summary: The Finance and Accounts Manager will provide overall day to day management of the accounting department in both City Medicals and City Ambulance. In liaison with the account’s assistants, he/she will ensure follow up and management of finances, budgeting, compliance with taxes, reconciliation, invoicing and debt collection.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department including:
- Month and end-year process
- Accounts payable/receivable
- Cash receipts
- General ledger
- Payroll and utilities
- Treasury, budgeting
- Cash forecasting
- Revenue and expenditure variance analysis
- Capital assets reconciliations
- Trust account statement reconciliations
- Check runs
- Fixed asset activity
- Debt collection
- Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce financial reports or statements
- Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies and principles
- Coordinate and complete annual audits
- Provide financial and accounting recommendations
- Improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions
- Assign projects and direct staff to ensure compliance and accuracy
- Meet financial accounting objectives
- Establish and maintain fiscal files and records of all transactions of both City medicals and City Ambulance
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The Finance and Accounts Manager must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Business Administration or Finance and Accounting.
- Qualification in CPA will be an added advantage
- At least five years’ experience in similar position in a busy organization preferably in a medical industry.
- Proficient computer and accounting software usage like Ms. Word, MS Office and Quick books.
- Excellent written and communication skills.
- Good time management skills.
