About US:
In 1995, Epicentre created a permanent research centre in Uganda to support MSF projects in the region. The primary role of Epicentre in Mbarara is to conduct clinical research following Good Clinical Practice (GCP) requirements on critical public health burdens in Uganda and Africa. To reach this objective, Epicentre collaborates closely with the Mbarara University of Science and Technology (MUST). A full-time experienced research team is based at the Epicentre Mbarara Research Centre. The Mbarara research centre is located in Mbarara Municipality, 300 km South-West to Kampala.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Participation in initiation, monitoring, and closeout visits in compliance with the approved protocol and study procedures;
- Communication with the research site staff (administrative and medical) including coordinators, clinical research physicians and laboratory staff.
- Tasked with verifying adequate investigator qualifications, training and resources, including facilities, laboratories, equipment, and staff.
- Ensure that the Investigator site file is up to date with the latest regulatory documents.
- Medical record and research source documentation verification against case report form data, including informing the site staff of any entry errors, ensuring good documentation practices are being adhered to and communicating protocol deviations appropriately per SOPs, GCP and applicable regulatory requirements
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant must hold a University degree in a related health profession or a field related to research compliance.
- One year of experience in monitoring of clinical research.
- Knowledge of ICH guidelines, GCP, and the clinical trial study process.
- Ability to encompass knowledge of scientific concepts related to design and analysis of clinical trials
- Good report writing skills
