Job Summary: The Program Officer Nutrition provides ongoing, implementation, monitoring & evaluation and reporting in regard to the execution of the Emergency Nutrition activities. The Program Officer Nutrition leads on the nutrition intervention with focus on managing the IYCF-E Program and to ensure that the all components of the program are functioning properly, providing quality care to all the beneficiaries while respecting guidelines and principles of good practice e.g. the Operational Guidance on IYCF-E, the International Code of Marketing of Breast milk Substitutes and subsequent relevant resolutions, and SPHERE 2011.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicants for the Save the Children Program Officer Nutrition job placement must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition, Nursing, Public Health or any equivalent accrued working experience in a related position;
- A minimum of two years of relevant experience implementing, supervising, monitoring and evaluating field based nutrition projects with an NGO, focusing on children’s rights, preferably in an emergency setting;
- Good understanding of child rights issues and child rights instruments.
- Specific familiarity with child rights issues in the NGO world or work.
- Ability to interact with communities (refugees and host); children and adults as well as other stakeholders at sub-county and district levels.
Desirable:
- One year of experience in financial, planning and budget management.
- Effective interpersonal skills – oral and written communication skills
- Facilitation and presentation skills
- Strong documentation and reporting skills.
