Umeme operates under a concession with a structural monopoly in the distribution of electricity across Uganda, distributing 99% of electricity in Uganda through a single buyer model.

Job Summary:  The Project Administrator will provide administrative and logistical support to the Energy for Rural Transformation (ERT) 3 Supervisory Consultancy Unit. The incumbent will ensure that IT solutions provided to internal clients and UMEME customers are fit-for-purpose.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Support delivery of ERT-3 Supervisory Consultancy project;
  • Managing information flow and all communication and Co-ordinate Activities between Umeme Support Departments on matters regarding the ERT-3 Supervisory Consultancy project;
  • Motivate develop and assess staff compliment in the ERT-3 Supervisory Consultancy Project Unit by maintaining an orderly and professional work space;
  • Safe custody of all ERT-3 Supervisory Consultancy project records e.g.: mandatory periodic reports, contractual documentation, etc.;
  • Support Planning & Preparation for all Project Team and Steering Committee meetings;
  • Preparation of reports about the ERT-3 Supervisory Consultancy project progress, key milestones etc.;
  • Support the management of the accounts & budgets for the ERT-3 Supervisory Consultancy;
  • Maintain a full chronological record of project activities for review and reference purposes by Umeme, REA, ERA and all interested stakeholders;
  • Manage resources associated with the ERT-3 Supervisory Consultancy project to ensure delivery stays within budget;

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 

  • The ideal candidate for the Umeme Project Administrator job vacancy must hold an honors degree in Commerce or any business-related discipline
  • Three years of experience in Project setup within in utility Company is preferred
