Kyambogo University Certificate Entry Scheme 2024-2025

The Academic Registrar, Kyambogo University invites online applications from Diploma/Certificate Holders Scheme only, to under listed undergraduate programmes for 2024-2025 Academic year.

Each applicant should possess at least a Credit or Second Class or equivalent Diploma/Certificate in a relevant field from a recognized Institution plus a Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) with at least 5  passes (i.e. 5 subjects without a grade 9) (or its equivalent) and a Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) with at least One Principal Pass and Two Subsidiary Passes obtained at the same sitting (or its equivalent). Please note that the Principal subjects required for admission to Diploma must be passed at Principal or Subsidiary levels.

A non-refundable application fee of Shs. 50,000/= (Fifty thousand shillings only), (Ugandans) and $30 (International Students) plus the
bank charge, must be paid at any Stanbic/DFCU Bank branch and ECO Bank, Revenue collection Account.

Certified copies of Diploma/Certificate Transcripts (not photocopies of certified copies) from the awarding institutions and Passport size photograph MUST be submitted to the Admissions Division Room 3, after payment of application fees.

NOTE: Only applicants with official Certified Academic Transcripts and Certificates will be considered for admission. Each applicant MUST also attach a copy of the Birth Certificate/National Identity

NB. Applicants who may find difficulties filling the online form can receive help at the University. The closing date of online application is 28th February at 12.00 am.

Go to https://admissions.kyu.ac.ug/ and click on Online
application. By default, the opening page will be on step
one.

Note: Things you need

  • An email address and contact number
  • You academic Documents to pick Key detail like award institution, index number for o and a level, year of award or sitting, etc.
  • An Internet Connection

Step 1: Accessing the Application Portal Link

Access the online application link as listed in the advert. Ensure that the page is secure before you continue.
NOTE: There might be other websites masquerading as the application portal. Only access the link advertised by the university

Step 2: Signup

  • Signup by clicking the orange signup button at the bottom of the page. If you cannot see the button, your browser could be having a zoom in setting. Zoom out holding down the “CTRL” button and pressing “+” button on PC and “CMD”
    and “+” on Mac
  • A password (six-digit number) will be sent to Your mobile number and your email address.
    NOTE: Sometimes depending your Mobile Telecom service provider, the message may delay or not be delivered. In this case, don’t panic, simply check your email. The same information is sent to your email as well.
  • Log in using this password and your email address or your mobile number by selecting the “login with Tel No” option
  • After Logging in, you will be prompted to change the password to the one you can remember. Password should have at least a length of six Characters
  • The system will take you back to the login prompt to now login with your new password

Step 3: Filling a Form

  • After Logging in, click on the “APPLY NOW” Button to view the advertised Schemes
  • Read the instructions carefully of each of the scheme you want to apply for
  • Fill in the application form accordingly. To submit there is minimum information that must be captured. If you don’t have this information ready, simply save the form and return later to complete it when you have all the information required to submit the application form
  • Once the form is completely filled and submitted the following actions can be done

OTHER STEPS TO NOTE

  • Obtain a payment advice slip by clicking on the “Pay for Form” button
  • Make a payment at any of the following Banks: (a) Stanbic Bank, (b) ECO Bank, (c) Centenary Bank, (d) DFCU Bank, (e) UBA Bank, (f) Barclays Bank

 NB: The detailed fee structure is obtainable HERE. PLEASE NOTE THAT THE UNIVERSITY RESERVES THE RIGHT TO REVIEW FEES FROM TIME TO TIME

  • To confirm receipt of your application payment, please check the email using the email address you used to sign up. If you do not receive an email within 30 minutes after payment, log into your admission account and check the status of the form you have paid for. It should be ‘PAID’. If the status does not change within 24 hours from the time of your payment, please go to the bank branch and confirm that your payment has been sent to Kyambogo University and then contact us using the contact provided on the admission portal or come to Kyambogo University Admissions Office to clear any arising issues. All inquiries should be addressed to the ACADEMIC REGISTRAR at the above address

2024-2025 Kyambogo University Diploma / Certificate Entry Scheme Online Application Procedure

First, visit application.kyu.ac.ug 

  1. Create an Account

1. To create an account, click on the ‘Apply now’ menu option. You can also get the same page by clicking any ‘signup’ button you come across while browsing the site.

The signup page has a form with the following fields. Fill in all the fields correctly before you proceed to the next step.

e-mail Adddress: This must be a valid email address because it is required for account activation. If you do not have one, then consider creating a GMAIL account now before you proceed.

Full Name: Please ensure that you provide your full name as it appears on your academic documents.

Password: Provide a unique password preferrably one that you do not use on other websites. The password should be atleast 8 characters long. Please note that your password must only be known to you because if any other persons get to know your password, it implies that they can access your forms.

After filling in all the fields, continue by clicking on the ‘Create Account’ button

On creating the account successfully, an email will be sent to the email address you provided. Log into your email account and go to the inbox. There should be an email from Kyambogo University. If you can’t find the email in your inbox, please try checking in your spam folder.

Open the mail and click the activation link in that mail. If the link is not clickable, copy the entire link and paste it in the address bar of your browser. This will take you to the account activation page.

To complete account activation, enter your password in the space provided and click the ‘Activate My Account’ button

This will take you direct to the login page and thats it! You have created an account for all Kyambogo University Admissions. You may continue with the login by providing your email and password.

2. Fill The Forms

After creating an account, your first login will take you to your dashboard which will look like the image above except that it won’t be having any form data. Please ensure that you read the important notes provided to avoid any inconveniences.

:: Add a Form
We are now ready to add a form to our application. Click on the ‘Add Form’ button to reveal the admission scheme selection drop-down. Only running schemes will be displayed in the drop-down for you to select. If the scheme you want to apply for is not included, you will have to wait until when it is announced.

After selecting your prefered scheme, click ‘Continue’ to proceed with filling in the form.

There you are! You can now start filling in your forms with the correct data.

It is important to note that only one form is accepted per applicant per admission scheme.

Your admission to Kyambogo University heavily depends on the correctness of the data you provide in this form. You will be guided alongside as you enter the data for various fields.

3. Pay for Forms

Finally, you have to pay for your form! You simply have to follow the three steps shown above. No form will be considered for admission if it is not paid for.

:: Select Pay
To initiate payment, go to your dashboard and click on “Pay Now” against the form you want to pay for. This will take you to the payment page containing the details of the form you want to pay for.

Click on the “Print Payslip” button to proceed with payslip printing

:: Print payslip
Your generated payslip will now be ready for printing. Just click on the print button on that page and you are good to go!

Print out your payslip and pay the indicated amount in an appropriate bank. Currently only Stanbic and Crane bank are supported.

After payment, you should be able to receive a notification SMS and e-mail notifying you about receipt of your payment. If you do not receive any SMS, please check your dashboard. Form payment status should be “PAID”.
