About US:
The National Social Security Fund (NSSF) is a Provident Fund mandated to provide social security to its members as prescribed by law under CAP 222 (Laws of Uganda) through efficient management of members’ contributions. The NSSF asset base is currently over Ugx. 9.8 trillion, making the Fund one of the largest players in Uganda’s economy.
Job Summary: The Logistics Assistant will be responsible for driving fund cars, transporting staff and property and to provide logistical support in delivery of welfare services where need arises.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Transport fund staff, parcels, mails and other assets to approved destinations
- Ensure the security and safety of fund cars and accessories
- Account for allocated fuel
- Ensure log books are accurately filled in.
- To make sure vehicles are washed and clean and early reporting of faults and repairs
- Carryout service in the set mileage.
- Physical inspection of vehicles and ensure vehicles are in good mechanical condition.
- Follow up motor vehicle maintenance schedules.
- Establish liaisons with fund motor vehicle maintenance providers and other public partners e.g. police, URA, Insurance.
- Carry field rescues and accident site salvage and gather accident related information 70%
- Inspect and report faulty office equipment
- Supervise office cleanliness
- Supervise the provision of staff welfare services (tea and drinking water) to staff at the Head Office.
- Make routine and adhoc reports to supervisors
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The ideal candidate for the NSSF Logistics Assistant job opportunity must hold a UCE certificate
- Valid driver’s Permit
- Three years of driving experience in a busy corporate organization, with a branch network.
- Should be licensed with DL and DM class and able to drive minibuses.
- A certificate of driving competence from a recognized certified automobile training institution/Agency or Authority.
- Excellent driving skills.
- Good communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal and networking skills.
- Excellent coordination and organizational skills.
- High degree of integrity and confidentiality.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Computer skills (For example Word, excel)
- Report writing skills
- Team work skills
Note: The candidate should be willing to work at our Ishaka branch with the possibility of transfer to other branches.
