TPO Uganda is a local Ugandan NGO that has been operating in the country for 25 years. Our programs comprise interventions organised around the following themes; Care and protection of OVC; child protection, livelihoods support, mental health and psychosocial support, response and prevention of all forms of violence against women and children as well as emergency response and humanitarian action. TPO Uganda is active in 33 districts in the country and is a member of several partnerships and coordination mechanisms in the country.
Job Summary: The Chief of Party will take overall responsibility for the delivery, coordination, implementation and monitoring of the OVC program. S/he will be responsible for technical leadership, financial and administrative oversight of the program and will serve as the principal institutional liaison to USAID. S/he will manage a team of senior staff and sub-partners and ensure quality, timeliness, and operational efficiency across the entire program. You will also supervise senior teams of operations, finance, grants and M&E personnel.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The ideal applicant must hold a Master’s Degree or higher in international development, public health management, Social sciences, or a closely related field is required.
- Experience managing a USG cooperative agreement preferred including demonstrable experience managing complex consortium based USAID multiyear grants as a prime grant recipient.
- The CoP must have strong leadership qualities and depth and breadth of technical and management expertise, with at least 10 years of experience designing, implementing and managing large, complex projects
- Experience with designing, conceptualising and supervising delivery of integrated programs targeting OVC households, community systems strengthening, economic empowerment, and youth focused programs.
- Familiarity with USG PEPFAR program design elements and areas of program emphasis, for HIV/AIDs prevention, care and treatment.
- High level of maturity and credibility to interact with local government counterparts, state and non-state actors and multi-sectoral networking and coordination
