Job Summary: The Marketing and Communication Specialist is responsible for increasing the market share and increasing VisionFund brand through identifying, formulating, coordinating, and implementing the Marketing and communication activities
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design and execute comprehensive Product, Marketing and Service strategies in line with the business objectives in order to increase market position.
- Plan, coordinate and participate in VisionFund’s Public Relations, media management promotional activities such as product launches, trade fairs/exhibitions, road shows, CSR and social events designed to strengthen the Brand
- Draft and manage the annual marketing budget, track spend to ensure effective, efficient and successful execution of advertising campaigns, product promotions and all brand initiatives. Ensure timely payment of invoices.
- Provide technical support to departments in identifying marketing and product training needs in line with the MFIs marketing programs and strategy.
- Design and execute the Corporate Social Responsibility strategy and review donations and sponsorship proposal requests in line with the corporate vision and values.
- Manage brand studies and consumer research on products and services and recommend changes to Management based on results and findings.
- Develop and project a reputable public image to reflect its vision, strategic direction and enhance its position in the market
- Develop and establish beneficial relationships with Media houses, Advertising and Research agencies
- Stay abreast of industry trends and developments in the Microfinance sector, events and issues in support of VisionFunds’ image and responsibilities
- Work with World Vision team to identify our target market, draw plans and share with management for execution.
- Support business units in developing marketing materials while assisting them in executing any events.
- Manage and update the VisioFund website and intranet.
- Perform any other duties as may be assigned to you from time to time.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The ideal applicant must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in a Business related field preferably in Marketing.
- Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) Diploma.
- A related professional qualification in communications will be an added advantage.
- At least 5 years’ experience in Business development with 2 years at a supervisory level
- Marketing principles and practice
- Product Development process and continuous monitoring to ensure product competitiveness.
- Knowledge of products & services including electronic channels.
- Interpersonal skills to create and maintain relevant business networks
- Excellent verbal, written and communication skills and Presentation skills
- Knowledge and effective application of relevant regulatory policies, processes, procedures and guidelines, to consistently achieve required compliance standards or benchmarks.
- Planning & organizing skills for effective time utilization in achieving the objectives of the position.
- Self-motivated and result oriented, and able to deliver within deadlines.
