Freedom Fund is a finance company wholly owned by the Uhuru Institute for Social Development. It provides financial services to clients such as Cooperatives, SACCOs, Village Loan savings associations and other collective business organizations.
Job Summary: The Credit Officer will be responsible for maintaining and managing a healthy loan portfolio and a quality client base within the assigned area of operation.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Analyze applicants’ financial status, credit worthiness and property evaluations to determine feasibility of granting loans.
- Research background documentation and review personal and business financial statements and tax returns so as to prepare a preliminary analysis for the lender.
- Approve loans within specified limits or refer loan applications outside those limits to management for approval.
- Recommend and monitor burrower adherence to loan covenants.
- Maintain the privacy of client information and security of all records.
- Survey and sensitize clients about existing loan packages.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant must hold a University degree in Business Administration, Micro-Finance or related discipline.
- Three years of practical work experience in loan department or similar financial position.
- Excellent financial analytical skills with sound judgment
- Strong stress tolerance abilities.
- Demonstrable track record of high integrity.
- Ability to follow up and close issues.
