The Deposit Protection Fund of Uganda (DPF) is a Ugandan government agency that provides deposit insurance to depositors in Ugandan Banks, Credit Institutions and Microfinance Deposit-taking Institutions (MDIs).
Job Summary: The Liquidation and Recoveries Officer will be tasked to closely interact with appointed liquidators, maintain full accounts and other records of all transactions relating to the liquidation and recoveries process.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintains full accounts and other records of all transactions relating to the liquidation and recoveries process.
- Participates in monitoring and drafting reports on the collection of receivables from debtors and manages assets of the liquidation debtor with due care and diligence.
- Participates in analysis and drafting reports on the claims reported against the liquidation debtor.
- Establishes the volume, status and priority order of the claims reported against the liquidation debtor and drafts corresponding reports.
- Participates in drawing up the draft closing liquidation balance sheet.
- Participates in the preparation of reports on the operation of the liquidation debtor in the period preceding the institution of liquidation proceedings.
- Coordinates activities between a liquidator of contributing institutions and the Fund in accordance with legal regulations.
- Carries out the monthly end balances sheet reconciliations.
- Collects all information regarding the claims of creditors (including the receipt of such claims for proof).
- Guides recovering and taking into possession, all the movable and immovable assets and property to realize maximum benefit for all stakeholders (including creditors and shareholders).
- Performs other work-related duties as assigned, within your scope of practice.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The ideal candidate for the Deposit Protection Fund of Uganda (DPF) Liquidation and Recoveries Officer job placement must hold a first-class or upper second-class bachelor’s degree in accounting, law, finance, economics, statistics, mathematics or other related field, from an accredited institution, is essential.
- Professional accounting certification is desirable.
- Post graduate diploma in legal practice is desirable.
- Demonstrated knowledge of accounting, finance, company law or insolvency law is desirable.
- Demonstrated proficiency of MS office packages is desirable.
- Prior work experience is not a must.
