They are recruiting for their client, A Leading hospitality business in Uganda, recognized by the URA among the top SME’s is seeking to hire a Cost Controller. The business operates a safari lodge in Queen Elizabeth National Game Park, and chain of high end restaurants in Kampala. It has received international recognition from accredited bodies with very good trip advisory ratings.
Job Summary: The Human resource manager shall plan, direct, and coordinate the administrative functions of an organization. Will oversee the recruiting, interviewing, and hiring of new staff; consult with top executives on strategic planning; and serve as a link between an organization’s management and its employees
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Providing pragmatic and consistence guidance and advice to managers on grievance, attendance, disciplinary and performance issues.
- Raising proactive issues with managers, identifying practical solutions to complex and diverse HR issues, and recommending appropriate action plans.
- Compiling and managing case management documentation.
- Briefing new managers on the policies and procedures of the organization, providing coaching to managers on difficult and complex issues.
- Liaising with management and Finance teams on salary levels of existing and prospective staff consistent with organization market conditions and policies.
- Ensuring the maintenance and updating of pay roll data.
- Reviewing and revising the HR policy in compliance with the changing or new legislation.
- Developing personnel policies, maintaining and updating policy manuals as well as employee handbooks as it may be necessary.
- Overseeing the adaptation of existing and new employees to the company code of conduct.
- Conducting new employee orientation programs alongside other educational and training programs on changes in benefits, diversity and other staff continuous professional building programs.
- Developing and maintaining collaborative working relationships amongst the departments and employees.
- Administering and keeping information on benefits and compensation packages up to date.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The ideal applicant must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
- At least three years of human resource management experience preferred
