Uganda National Meteorological Authority (UNMA) is a statutory body established by UNMA Act, 2012. The Act empowers UNMA to provide for the control and development of technically sound and scientific meteorological services in Uganda.
Job Summary: The Senior Human Resource Officer will assist the Director Finance and Administration in the execution of the human resource management function of the Authority
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Head of the Human Resource Section
- Oversees the application of current personnel policies, rules and procedures.
- Manages performance appraisals,
- Develops, maintains, and updates a robust Human Resource Development and Retention strategy
- Provides support to staff payroll management
- Coordinates internal and external communications
- Responsible for Registry including filing system.
- Ensures proper time management of the payroll
- Handles staff relations and welfare matter,
- Performing any other duties as may be assigned from time to time
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The ideal candidate for the Uganda National Meteorological Authority (UNMA) Senior Human Resource Officer job must hold an honors’ Bachelor in either Arts or Social Sciences with Personnel Management/Human Resource Management as a subject or Social Work and Social Administration or Commerce (Management option) or Business Administration /Studies (Management option) obtained from a recognized Institution.
- A Masters in Human Resource Management or Public Administration from a recognized University
- Post Graduate Diploma in Human Resource Management or Public Administration and management from a recognized University/Institution shall be an added advantage.
- Experience of 6 years working in Human Resource Management gained from a reputable organization.
- Conversant with the Integrated Personnel and Payroll System (IPPS) Conflict resolution skills
- Attention to detail,
- An effective team player,
- Interpersonal skills,
- Written and verbal communication skills
- Age: 30 years and above
