Job Summary: The Distribution Team Leader will supervise all General Food Assistance (Food & Cash) Distribution activities to affected population at assigned Final Delivery Point and overall coordination of general food assistance to registered and verified beneficiaries.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- With the help of food and cash monitor, supervise all General Food Assistance (Food & Cash) Distribution activities to affected population at assigned Final Delivery Point (FDP)
- Assist Food and Cash Monitor coordinating general food assistance to only registered and verified beneficiary at FDP with stakeholder – OPM commandant, Food Management Committee/ Refugee Welfare Committee and community contracted casual labor.
- Assist in the planning, sensitization of beneficiaries, implementation and monitoring of the distribution process.
- Ensure adequate protection and assistance of the beneficiaries during the distribution exercise; particularly EVH
- Facilitate the timely resolution of complaints raised at the FDP with responsible partner to ensure entitled beneficiaries receive correct entitlement.
- Conduct Food Basket, Post Distribution Monitoring, Onsite Distribution Monitoring and Market prices monitoring, collect data for analysis to inform on the GFA to conflict affected population.
- With the help of food and cash monitor, Account for all food commodities delivered at FDP before, during and after the distribution. Ensure food delivery documents are recorded and signed appropriately.
- Prepare and disseminate daily distribution reports.
- Perform over duties assigned.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant should preferably hold a bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, Business Administration or any other related qualification.
- At least two years’ experience in the General Food Assistance (Food and Cash Based Transfers) to conflict affected population in refugee settings.
- Strong communication skills Verbal and written English. Knowledge of the local language is an added advantage.
- Good report writing skills and computer knowledge.
- Knowledge of commodities & logistics operations, specifically those that relate to Cash/Food distributions, handling, reporting, tracking, monitoring etc.
- Proven planning, team work and leadership skills
- Sensitivity, diplomacy, tact and ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Code of conduct as relevant to food distribution activities.
- Be respectful, possess cultural and political awareness and sensitivity.
- Demonstrate flexibility, consistency and sound work ethics.
- Ability and willingness to live and work in remote field locations under basic conditions.
