About US:
Mandela National Stadium often referred to as Namboole Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium in Kampala, Uganda. It is currently used mostly for football matches, although other sports are also practiced. The stadium has a capacity of 40,202 people. The stadium was built with a grant of $36 million dollars from the People’s Republic of China. The 40,202 capacity sports complex was built with a $36m Chinese government grant and opened in 1997.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in installing, repairing and maintain plumbing systems and components;
- Maintain all building codes, installation requirements and relevant legislation;
- Administer, keep daily reports and schedule work in cooperation with other departments;
- Ensure proper and continuous supply of water throughout the stadium;
- Assist in removal of screening and grit retained in the inlet works
- Assist in cutting, pruning and removing the grass and vegetation that grows on the embarkment to prevent it form falling into the pond and generating the formation of mosquito breeding habitats.
- Assist in spraying the scum on the surface of anaerobic ponds.
- Assist removal of any accumulated solids in the pond’s inlets and outlets.
- Assist in recording all activities and visits to the lagoon in a stabilization pond register sheet.
- Perform other related duties as required
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant must hold a Certificate in Water Engineering or Advanced Craft Part II in Plumbing (UNEB/UBTEB).
