Job Summary: The Procurement Officer will take the lead in procurement and disposal of goods/services by the company and provide data and information required for the preparation of monthly performance reports in SGS global procurement system
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Timely value for money procurement and disposal of goods in accordance with SGS internal regulations, guidelines & procedures.
- Review of procurement and disposal budgets/plans and follow up departments/areas and key users on timely initiation of procurement requisitions for the planned procurements and disposals for the category of procurements/disposal assigned.
- Preparation of specific procurement/disposal plans and preparation of monthly performance records for each procurement/disposal assigned.
- Preparation of bidding/solicitation, receipt/opening of bids and evaluation reports documents for procurements or disposals assigned.
- Preparation of procurement documentation and submission to senior management for approval.
- Evaluation of bids and display/issuing of bid and award notices.
- Review of statement of requirements prepared by the user departments and providing timely guidance and feed back to users.
- Provide data and information required for the preparation of monthly performance reports in SGS global procurement system.
- Any other duties as may be assigned by management
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The ideal applicant for the SGS Procurement Officer job placement must hold a bachelor’s degree in Procurement or business administration or equivalent qualification.
- At least two years of directly related to procurement support
- Possession of full or part professional qualification in procurement will be an added advantage.
- Must be computer literate and hands on computer experience
- Ability to generate Procurement and disposal reports
- Ability to carry out procurements and prepare evaluations reports
- Good communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills
- Acts quickly and decisively; able to make tough calls
- Works well under pressure, challenges status quo.
- Team player who is also able to work independently
- Ability to work under minimum supervision
- Applies judgment and acts according to the SGS standards of ethics and integrity
