Job Summary: The Business Trainer will support the Business Bootcamp program of WPDI by conducting Business and Entrepreneurship skills trainings at the CLC in Moroto and within the communities in Karamoja and by providing guidance and monitoring of the SMEs supported by WPDI in the sub-region.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Working closely with the Business Skills Officer and Program Coordinator in the deployment of WPDI Business Bootcamp program in the Karamoja sub-region;
- Conducting WPDI business and entrepreneurship skills trainings in basic, intermediate and advance level at the Moroto CLC and community level;
- Conducting tailored business trainings for the WPDI youth leadership program using the Trainer of Trainees model;
- Providing support and guidance to the youth and community members for the design of their business plans and launch of their income generating projects;
- Representing WPDI at the partners livelihood coordination meetings at the district as needed;
- Working closely with the Business Skills Officer in the development and update of curricula/modules in business and entrepreneurship skills for trainings at WPDI CLC in Moroto.
- Working closely with the Program Coordinator Karamoja and Business Skills Officer for the design of the work plan/calendar of activities and the mobilization of youth and community members for the business and entrepreneurship skills trainings at WPDI CLC in Moroto;
- Working closely with the program Coordinator Karamoja & Business Skills Officer to ensure that the income generating community projects supported by WPDI are commercially viable and on track by providing regular guidance and mentorship;
- Connecting the youth with potential local partners for the expansion of their projects;
- Supporting the design of monitoring and evaluation mechanisms for the income generating community projects supported by WPDI and providing regular data on their progress and impact;
- Maintaining thorough records of microloans/grants distributed to recipients and routinely monitoring and reporting on the impact of these microloans/grants.
- Carrying out any additional activities that may be assigned from time to time.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- He / she must hold a University Degree in Business Administration or other business-related courses suitable for the work of the organization.
- At least 3 to 5 years of progressively responsible relevant experience with preferably professional and field-based experience in business, entrepreneurship, agri-business, project implementation and youth empowerment or a related field;
- Keen interest in working with youth leaders;
- Proven ability to work efficiently, under pressure, and in multicultural environment.
- Language: Excellent written and spoken English, Ngakarimojong, Pokot and Leb Thur
