Newton Fund Researcher Workshop Grants for Researchers in India and UK; Newton Fund’s Researcher Link workshops give an opportunity to Early-career researchers based in the UK or India to form new international connections that can improve the quality of their research.

It aims to bring together early-career researchers from India and the UK to allow them to make international connections that can improve the quality of their research.

Once funded, grants are available for early-career researchers in India and the UK to attend the workshop in a public funded Higher Education Institution in India.

Priorities Area Applications are welcomed in the following priority areas:

 

  • Public Health & Well Being
  • Sustainable Cities & Urbanisation
  • Food Energy Water nexus
  • Understanding Oceans
  • Big Data
  • High Value ManufacturingPriority Areas – Recommended by Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR)

    Elimination Strategy for HIV – with following sub-themes:

     

  • The test-and-treat strategy and other possible strategies for HIV eliminationChallenges to elimination

    HIV-TB co-infection – with following sub-themes:

     

  • Understanding TB latency today and its opportunities for HIV and TB programs
  • Finding synergies between the HIV and TB programsEligibility Criteria

     

  • Publicly funded higher education institution (HEI) such as Central or State Universities or Research Institutions in India that have lead researchers and meet the quality criteria for the Call can apply.
  • Leading or Established Researchers can apply to be Principal Applicants.
  • Each proposal must have one Principal Applicant from the UK, as well as a Principal Applicant from India.Cost Component

    Newton Bhabha Fund will cover:

     

  • International travel per UK participant
  • Public funded Indian Higher Education Institution will cover:
  • Domestic travel per Indian participant
  • Subsistence costs for all UK and Indian participants
  • Event costs for all UK and Indian participants
  • Additional workshop costsHow to Apply
