Key Duties and Responsibilities: Under the direct supervision of the OHCHR Gulu team leader, the Office Assistant will be responsible for the following duties:
- Ensure cleanliness of the office at all times, organize and maintain office common areas.
- Assist in monitoring and managing inventory of office supplies and seek replenishment when necessary.
- Assist in photocopying a variety of documents and other materials.
- Oversee clerical tasks, such as sorting, filing, processing and sending mail and other documents.
- Maintain the office/ library resource centre including keeping a database of resource materials.
- Provide assistance in administrative functions in the absence of the Administrative Clerk
- Undertake any other task as assigned by the Head of the Field Office.
Key Results
- Well maintained and organized office filing and records including updated database.
- Clean and organized office space and common area
- High completion rate of tasks in a timely and professional manner.
- Well organized and maintained store. Establish effective working relationships.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The ideal candidate for the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Office Assistant should have completed Secondary education
- At least one year of experience in clerical and general office support or related area is desirable.
- Language: Good oral communication skills in English is required. Knowledge of the local language is an advantage.
