On behalf of our client, we are looking for a competent, skilled, and experienced Procurement Transit Custom Engineer region of Uganda.
Job Summary: The Procurement Transit Custom Engineer will be working in the Contracts and Procurement Team and is responsible to establish purchasing documents and participate to the optimization of the economic performance of the operations by establishing, monitoring and updating various Purchase Orders.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Receive, control of Purchase Requisitions (PRs) for Materials coming from Drilling team up to the Purchase Order issuance according to Company procedure and ethics (Internal procedures, Hygiene Safety Environment and Quality, Compliance & Anti Bribery);
- Participate in negotiations of commercial terms of purchases
- Validate of all contractual documents and formal letters issued
- Prospect and ensure proper evaluation of supplier performance
- Monitor the stock availability: measure shortage and take appropriate remedial actions
- Liaise with other services to maintain materials management optimization (no shortage and no overstock)
- Ensure efficient relationships with the customs brokers and freight forwarders, according to the customs clearing procedures and duties
- Participate in the optimization of the economic performance of the operations (inducing optimization of transportation costs)
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Academic qualifications: Degree in relevant technical or business background or equivalent
- At least four years of experience in related position in a busy environment.
- Good operational knowledge of the industry
- Good knowledge of purchasing management
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with diverse business drivers and variables
- Ability to prioritize activities in line with business needs
- Good numeracy and analytical skills
- High level of competency in the Microsoft Suite of applications including MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
