Job Summary:  We are looking for a Cultivation Manager. Do you have knowledge in plant production processes and practices in horticulture? We offer an interesting job with a lot of autonomy in which you are challenged to properly implement and manage all operational production processes in order to produce a healthy plant that meets a desired quality and quantity. You will be reporting to the Production Manager.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Monitoring and implementing growing strategies (Disinfection of driplines, foaming, fertilisers, climate control, irrigation)
  • Carrying out and analysing samples (soil and leaf samples) to attain a healthy plant with required dry matter.
  • Identifying pests and disease, enforcement of hygiene protocols, providing technical support to sprayers, in charges and the scouters. Implementing spray programs.
  • Monitoring radiation through on time adjustment of screens, curtains and Shednets.
  • Coaching and monitoring growing team (sprayers, in charges and scouters).
  • Making growing round reports to production managers.
  • Efficient use of the sprayers PPE’s (Personal protective equipments).

 

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s degree in horticulture with three (3) years of experience in plant production
  • Good knowledge in plant production processes with high quality
  • Good expression in English and Luganda
