Job Summary: The Business Development Associate will be responsible for coordinating, monitoring, and supporting sales team in Uganda to ensure, rate filing, vessel filling factor, disputes, rate queries are attending in timely manners, while promoting and selling both maritime and non-maritime products. He/She shall also assist the sales team develop new business opportunities within the market, with the objective being to improve and grow the organization’s market position and financial growth within the charged scope which in includes but not limited to Uganda.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Research new sales leads within designated territory ensuring an ongoing and robust pipeline of new opportunities.
- Liaise with sales team, management and customers to formulate a sales strategy to fit with the seasonal requirements of the business.
- Assist Uganda sales team to reach targets set by the management on every domain
- Identify potential new customers and the key decision makers within the designated markets.
- Assist the Uganda Sales Team to develop quotations and proposals to be presented to potential new customers.
- Research and develop a thorough understanding of the other group services to enable effective cross selling of their services and solutions.
- Assist in planning and integration of new business into our network in conjunction with our Operations and Customer Care teams.
- Attending exhibitions, trade shows and relevant Industry networking events when required.
- Track and record activity of new accounts, submit weekly sales reports and present at Cluster sales meetings.
- Communicating new product developments to prospective clients.
- Writing reports.
- Assist in developing strong relationships with stakeholders or customers.
- Reconcile imported containers with export bookings for the designated territory.
- Assist to acquire Competitive and Business Intelligence in coordination with cluster VIE.
- Key entry point for import/export TBL development out of Uganda.
- Assist to reduce logistics imbalance and create depot savings through better synergies between imports and exports.
- Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s degree in commerce, Economics, Marketing and or Business-related course
- Experience in use of CRM – Sales Force is an added advantage
- Have an entrepreneurial and innovative approach
