Uganda Electricity Transmission Company limited (UETCL) is responsible for bulk purchase of electricity from the generating companies and selling it in bulk to the distribution companies throughout Uganda. UETCL is also responsible for exports and imports of electricity to Uganda. Our vision is: “To Become a leading strategic business partner in the transmission and Single Buyer Business and to support sustainable energy development in Uganda.”

 

Job Summary:  The Strategy and Business Performance Officer is mainly responsible  for developing and executing strategies to identify assess and pursue new business opportunities.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Participate and contribute to development of the Company’s Corporate Business Plan and annual work plans.
  • Assist in the implementation of the business development strategies through market assessments, research, analysis of industry trends and business plans.
  • Perform analysis of progress against targets and key performance indicators and contributes to UETCL’s dashboard, regular updates on organizational performance for use in reports to funders and the Board of Directors.
  • Lead the collection and analysis of organizational dashboard data, including monitoring progress against organizational goals and objectives and tracking of high-level projects and deliverables.
  • Support the development and implementation of organization-wide strategy and strategic alignment processes, including alignment of departmental objectives to Corporate Business Plan.
  • Provide support to the Leadership Team to conceptualize, design, and refining of UETCL’s organizational goals and objectives.
  • Provide technical assistance in annual planning and objective setting processes across the departments, the development of milestones and key performance indicators for organizational objectives and establish a measurement process for tracking and analysing these milestones and KPIs.
  • Plan, coordinate and monitor company performance to determine the viability of its strategies.
  • Carry out any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

 

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • A bachelor’s degree with honours in Actuarial Science, Engineering, Business Administration, Social Sciences, Economics, Statistics and any other related field.
  • Post graduate qualification is an added advantage.
  • Three years of work experience with strategy development, strategy performance management monitoring systems/M&E.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage, track and report on program and organizational performance data in a fast-paced environment
  • Good business acumen and understanding of company strategic objectives and goals;
  • Forward looking thinker, who actively seeks opportunities and proposes solutions;
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve high performance goals and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in Excel and other tools for tracking and analyzing data.
  • Ability to conduct research and present data in a succinct and well-written manner.
