Job Summary: SNV in Uganda is currently recruiting for two internship positions. The Interns will be crucial in supporting various aspects of the communications and marketing team’s activities. Reporting directly to the Country Communications and Marketing Officer, the interns will collaborate with the team to contribute to the planning, execution, and evaluation of communication strategies and marketing initiatives across different sectors.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Content Creation:
- Assist in creating written and visual content for various platforms, including social media, websites, newsletters, and reports.
- Collaborate with team members to develop engaging and informative content that aligns with SNV Uganda’s objectives.
Social Media Management:
- Help manage the organisation’s social media presence by scheduling posts, responding to comments, and engaging with the audience.
- Monitor social media trends and suggest ideas for content that resonate with the target audience.
Event Support:
- Assist in the planning and execution of workshops, seminars, webinars, and other events.
- Help coordinate event logistics, invitations, registrations, and post-event follow-up.
Content Distribution:
- Support the distribution of content through various channels, ensuring it reaches the intended audience effectively.
- Collaborate with team members to optimise content for different platforms.
Data Analysis:
- Assist in collecting and analysing communication and marketing campaign data, helping evaluate their effectiveness.
- Contribute to the preparation of performance reports and presentations.
Graphic Design and Visual Content:
- Assist in creating visuals such as infographics, banners, and images for online and offline use.
- Work with the team to ensure visual content aligns with branding guidelines.
Administrative Tasks:
- Provide administrative support to the team, including scheduling meetings, taking minutes, and organising documentation.
- Help manage communication-related databases and records.
Learning and Growth:
- Use the internship to learn about various aspects of communications and marketing in a real-world setting.
- Seek feedback from team members and actively engage in professional development opportunities.
Market Research:
- Conduct research on industry trends, target audience preferences, and competitor activities to inform communication strategies.
- Summarize and present research findings to assist in decision-making processes.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant should currently be enrolled/just completed in a relevant degree program or a fresh graduate, such as Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Basic understanding of social media platforms and digital marketing concepts.
- Knowledge of video and photo editing software
- Proficiency in using tools for content creation, such as graphic design software.
- Enthusiasm for learning and contributing to a dynamic team.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks, and a willingness to travel.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Fluency in written and spoken English.
