Imagine Her is a progressive non-profit organization committed to accelerating the potential of women, girls, and youth as leaders and social entrepreneurs in Uganda. We focus on empowering them with innovation skills and resources to create sustainable social ventures, addressing critical community needs such as food insecurity, climate change, and rural housing.
Position Overview:
As a Program Associate, you will be a key member of the Social Enterprise & Innovation team, overseeing entrepreneurship training and supporting the growth of program participants and alumni.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Program Implementation and Partnerships:
- Lead the execution of the Social Enterprise and Innovation Program.
- Support participants in developing viable social ventures using design thinking methodologies.
- Engage in research and strategy development to address climate change challenges.
- Foster strategic partnerships and market access for participant ventures.
- Identify and engage communities for program implementation.
- Field Staff Management and Coaching:
- Train and mentor Community Coaches in social enterprise development.
- Oversee program procedures and policies during implementation.
- Social Entrepreneurs Support and Financial Management:
- Guide entrepreneurs in sustainable venture management and fund recovery.
- Connect entrepreneurs with external support and capacity-building opportunities.
- Monitoring, Evaluation, Reporting & Documentation:
- Ensure accurate data collection and reporting.
- Participate in program assessments and document lessons learned.
- Develop and submit timely program reports.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Entrepreneurship, Environmental Management, Business Management, Education, or a relevant field.
- Post-graduate qualification is a plus.
- At least 2 years of experience in entrepreneurship and community training.
- Motorcycle riding ability is a must; a Class A driving permit is an advantage.
- Proficient in computer use (word processing, presentations, Excel, email).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Local language proficiency is an advantage.
