MEAL Team Leader Position at GOAL Uganda in Bugiri

GOAL Uganda is inviting applications for the position of Team Leader – Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) based in Bugiri. This is a unique opportunity for individuals with a passion for high-quality monitoring, evaluation, and learning in the international development sector. The role is particularly suited for those with a strong background in Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH), and experience in qualitative and quantitative methods of data collection and analysis.

About the Role:

The MEAL Team Leader will support the implementation of GOAL’s MEAL strategy, focusing on the development and management of projects, data collection, analysis, reporting, and management of information systems.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Implementing the GOAL MEAL strategy and developing project MEAL plans.
  • Leading the design of data collection tools and facilitating feedback with program teams.
  • Conducting field visits, monitoring results, and progress in project implementation.
  • Managing client relationships and resolving issues.
  • Building capacity of staff in MIS tools and databases.
  • Line management of MEAL officers and other assigned staff.
  • Ensuring compliance with all GOAL, Donor, and Government of Uganda policies and guidelines.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:

  • Degree in Statistics, Development Economics, Social Sciences, or a related field.
  • Three years of relevant work experience in managing the WASH MEAL component of a donor-funded project.
  • Proficiency in MIS tools like CommCare, PowerBi, and analytical tools such as STATA, SPSS, and EXCEL.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to summarize large data sets.
  • Good knowledge of budget management and forecasting.
  • Excellent communication and computer literacy skills.
  • Knowledge in WASH implementation approaches and experience in establishing MEAL systems for WASH.
  • Ability to travel as required.
