LWF Uganda works to reduce people’s vulnerability, supporting them to realize their potential, to build on their assets, and to respond to their own problems and needs. LWF Uganda currently has five areas of operation in Pader, Kitgum, Adjumani, Katakwi, Sembabule, Kampala and Kamwenge Districts.
Job Summary: The Executive Assistant will provide high-level Executive support to the Country Director and the Country Management Team (CMT). The incumbent will undertake specific projects, manage and develop administrative functions in order to ensure the effective operations of the country representative’s office.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The ideal candidate for the Lutheran World Relief (LWR) Executive Assistant to the Country Representative job opportunity should hold a Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field or equivalent qualification;
- A minimum of three to five years’ experience providing an Executive Assistant support in a similar role;
- High level of tact and diplomacy and the ability to use appropriate styles and methods of communication to ensure a professional yet personal customer service;
- Judgment and initiative to anticipate the CDs standard response and preferred courses of action. Ability to identify when the CD or an associate should deal with an issue direct or guide the response;
- Good organizational and administrative skills and the ability to prioritize competing tasks and meet deadlines.;
- Willing, speedy and accurate. Can pay good attention to detail and finish tasks;
- Good communication, negotiation, influencing and interpersonal skills. An ability to work Vith others both independently and as part of a team. With excellent written and spoken English;
- Numerate and able to work with budgets;
- Ability to build working relations with others at all levels of the organisation;
- Ability to organize multiple tasks, prioritizing and delegating appropriately and saying “no” or finding alternative solutions where appropriate;
- Proven ability to remain calm, focused and organized to deliver results on time when under pressure and with rapidly changing circumstances;
- High degree of tenacity and initiative combined with high levels of discretion and diplomacy – ability to observe strict confidentiality, and to be tactful and diplomatic;
- Ability to use Lotus Notes and Microsoft Office. Sound working knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint;
- Flexibility to travel if need be;
- Show commitment and understanding of the principles relating to LWF’s values and aims;
- Awareness of gender issues.
