Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) is a semi-autonomous agency under the Ministry of Tourism, Wildlife and Antiquities. UWA was established in 1996 and is managed in accordance with the Wildlife Act Cap 200. The Mission of UWA is: “To Conserve and Sustainably Manage the Wildlife and Protected Areas of Uganda in Partnership with Neighboring Communities and Other Stakeholders for the Benefit of the People of Uganda and the Global Community.”
Job Summary: The Administrative Assistant will be responsible for providing effective administrative and secretarial support to the departments/units
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Organize and manage the day-to-day running of the office.
- Ensure proper filing and maintenance of Unit records
- Coordinate external and internal communication for the office with other Departments.
- Coordinate domestic and overseas travels for the Supervisor.
- Organize meeting and prepare Unit reports
- Attend to visitors and route them to relevant offices
- Respond to telephone and internet inquiries related to the office.
- Manage the Supervisor’s diary
- Prepare workplans and timely performance reports
- Perform any other official duties as may be assigned by the supervisor and/or Management from time to time.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The ideal candidate for the Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) Administrative Assistant career opportunity must hold an Honors Bachelor’s degree in either Secretarial Studies or Public administration and Management from a recognized University or Institution.
- A minimum of three years of relevant working from a reputable Organization.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Confidentiality
- Excellent multitasking abilities.
- Team work abilities
- Professionalism, integrity and honesty.
- Time management and ability to often work under pressure
- Age Limit: Below 40 years
