Job Summary:

CERFODES seeks an analytical, results-oriented, and self-driven individual with extensive knowledge and training in climate change issues to fill the position of Associate – Research & Development.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Prepare, supervise, and review concept notes, pre-qualification documents, expressions of interest, and proposals.
  2. Track and ensure timely submission of all documents.
  3. Attend pre-bid meetings and bid opening sessions.
  4. Conduct research and data collection activities related to climate change issues.
  5. Develop and maintain analytic models and analysis tools for climate change impacts and mitigation policies.
  6. Contribute to climate policy research, advisory, and analysis.
  7. Organize and facilitate workshops/seminars with stakeholders on climate change.
  8. Conduct consultations with stakeholders and counterparts.
  9. Stay updated on regional and sub-regional climate change activities.
  10. Participate in project implementation and coordination meetings.
  11. Assist in developing technical concepts, guidelines, and procedures on climate and environmental issues.
  12. Provide inputs to project reports and publications.
  13. Prepare schedules of climate change-related assignments.
  14. Provide regular M&E reports to the project team.
  15. Undertake other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
  16. Provide support to other departments/Units as required.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental economics or a climate-change-related field.
  • Extensive knowledge of global climate change issues and policies.
  • Experience in qualitative and quantitative analysis, policy analysis, and climate data analysis.
  • Strong research, data analysis, writing, and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to multitask.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team.
