AWS Foundation Scholarships

The American Welding Society offers scholarships, fellowships and student loans to individuals who wish to enter the field of welding and related areas of study.
International Scholarship Program:
International students are eligible for AWS scholarships.
AWS awards scholarships to international students wishing to pursue their education in welding and related joining technologies who are not assigned to an AWS section.
Recipients must be full-time students pursuing a bachelor’s degree and must be in the top 20 percent of the institution’s grading system.
Proof of country citizenship is required.
Deadline – Apr. 1.
Student Loan Program
It awards student loans to AWS members wishing to continue their studies in welding and related fields of education.
Recipients must be at least 18 years of age, have a high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent, and a minimum GPA of 2.0.
All recipients must be members in good standing with the American Welding Society.
Non-members will be charged a $15 application fee and will receive a one-year membership in the AWS.
Research Fellowships
The American Welding Society offers Fellowships or Grants to students seeking a master’s or Ph.D. degree in welding or related fields.
The fellowships are up to $25,000 per year to recipients.
Fellowships are renewable. Deadline Jan. 4.
