Background of Hubert Kairuki Memorial University HKMU Faculty of Medicine
The Faculty of Medicine offers two academic programmes, which are Doctor of Medicine (5 years, and the Wholistic Therapeutic Counseling (3 months). Teaching at the faculty of Medicine is strongly community based, and it includes health promotion, disease prevention, research, and administration. Our training equips HKMU trained doctors, with a wider perspective and capabilities to function at all levels of a health care system with a good scientific general education, and with strong public health orientation and well developed social concerns of the community he or she will be serving.
The faculty is headed by the Dean, who is the overall incharge of all academic and administrative matters at faculty level. The faculty consists of 15 departments, which are headed by Chairpersons
