A qualified student of the school has ability to DISPENSE DRUGS TO PATIENTS , TO NURSE PATIENTS IN INTERNATIONAL HEALTH UNITS, TO MANUFACTURE BASIC DRAGS, TO QUALITATIVELY VERIFY THE VALIDITY OF A DRUG AND ITS BIOLOGICAL EFFORT TO LIFE.

BACK GROUND

This is one of the schools located in Mulago Hospital. It is next to the paramedical schools Administration offices and has a well-facilitated Pharmaceutical training laboratory. It has made several graduates in the pharmaceutical with in Uganda and abroad.

Pharmacy school evolved as a school of dispensers which was started in 1931 as a post basic course. The first trainees were Medical Assistants currently known as clinical officers. The school has official recognition and gazette by Ministry of Health under Allied Health Training Institution by the council.

In 1973, the programme was evaluated for A-Level candidates in take. The programme now purely admits A-Level students as direct entrants who have entry requirements of two principal passes in chemistry and biology obtained at the same sitting.
