Hofokam Ltd is one of the largest Micro Finance Institutions operating in western Uganda with its Head Office based at Fort Portal Tourism City. Its Vision is “to be the preferred partner of Microfinance households in Uganda”. Its mission is, “to provide satisfactory Microfinance Services to households in Western Uganda to enable them realize their Socio-economic goals.”

 

Job Summary:   The Business Development & Marketing Officer will implement, monitor and evaluate Marketing strategies for Hofokam’s Products and Services in accordance with the approved annual operational plan and business strategy.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Implement the approved marketing plan and ensure the achievement of marketing/business targets.

  • Participate in promotional events for Hofokam’s products.
  • Prepare and provide information on Hofokam’s range of products/services to potential customers over various media according to Hofokam’s guidelines.
  • Identify and recommend suitable media for positioning advertisements.
  • Distribute promotional materials (brochures and information materials etc.).

Assist the process of procuring and generating marketing information.

  • Identify and recommend promotional and business development activities.
  • Compile reports and perform record keeping of Hofokam’s promotional and Business Development activities.
  • Participate in carrying out visual brand audits.

Participate in creating and developing strategic business partnerships.

  • Prepare and submit proposals for approval by Business Development and Marketing Manager for potential partnerships.
  • Participate in coordinating Hofokam’s relationship and activities with the marketing agencies.
  • Monitor developments in the financial sector which may impact on Hofokam.
  • Monitor customer attitude and level of satisfaction with the service delivery.
  • Provide information on Hofokam’s range of products/services to potential customers.

Participate in PR activities.

  • Participate in planning and organising key business and marketing events.

Support the implementation of the institutions social function.

  • Assist in identifying activities and obtain CSR proposals.
  • Assist in vetting proposals and budget for the implementation of CSR.
  • Implement the CSR and promote Hofokam.
  • Follow up on the PR of the CSR.

Business Development

  • Support development and pitching of proposal concepts to potential business partners to grow business through account opening.
  • Build and maintain relationships with partners to support the marketing function (i.e. with suppliers).
  • Evaluate the executed partnerships to assess the impact on Business growth.

Customer Service.

  • Manage relationships with existing customers through rewarding loyal clients,
  • Handle customer complaints and customer engagement through social platforms.
  • Collect and analyze feedback given through the different platforms to inform marketing and customer service strategies.
  • Generate sales leads from below the line activities like pitch camps, exhibitions and from social media platforms, i.e. Facebook, Twitter and WhatsApp.

Marketing.

  • Participate in developing, crafting and implementing the annual marketing plan.
  • Implement and monitor proposed marketing initiatives (above the line, below the line and through the line).
  • Participate in monitoring market trends and customer behavior analysis.

Social Performance.

  • Orient staff on social performance management
  • Operationalize Hofokam’s social performance Task force
  • Track social goals, poverty benchmarks performance indicators and tracking tools
  • Collect accurate client level data that is aligned to the social goals.

 

Key Performance Indicators:

  • Timely completion of planned activities.
  • Timely and accurate reports.
  • Updates on developed products and trends.
  • Generation of new clients through advertisement.
  • Improved market visibility.
  • Improve Hofokam’s social performance to a rating of A+

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Commerce, Statistics, Economics and Social Sciences.
  • Possession of CIM level 4 is an added advantage.
  • At least two years’ experience in sales and marketing.
  • Digital marketing skills.
  • Analytical skills.
  • Business acumen.
  • Negotiation skills.
  • Communication skills.
  • Interpersonal skills.
  • Age: 25 – 30 years of age.
