Butaleja Technical Institute in Butaleja District
Butaleja Technical Institute is a Government aided Institute located along
Mbale – Busolwe- Namutumba road, 800meters from Butaleja Trading Center.
The Institute was established in January 1983 in Bunyole County now
Butaleja District, Eastern Uganda. It owns 30acres of land that has been
Formally demarcated. The Institute started with three courses namely;
Block/brick laying and concrete practice, Tailoring and Cutting Garments
and Carpentry and Joinery. In 2003 the following courses were introduced:
Electrical and Solar Installation, Motor vehicle Mechanics & Painting and Decorating.
In 2007 Plumbing in East African Countries was introduced. Currently, the Institute offers seven courses at National Certificate level.
The institute also offers skills training (non formal) on modular basis depending on the need of NGOS or Government.

Admissions are through application in the period of January to March every year. For non-formal training, intake depends on the number of students and sponsorship.
