Call for Proposals for Grants for Ugandan Farmers

One of the main functions of the NCST is to consider and advise generally on scientific activities including the application of the results of research; the transfer of technology into agriculture and industry; scientific research and technology.

Kenya Vision 2030 recognizes Science Technology and Innovation (ST&I) as one of the key foundations whose application can raise productivity and efficiency across all sectors of the economy.

The NCST invites Kenyan women scientist, technology professionals and innovators from public and private institutions to submit proposals for funding under the Science, Technology and Innovation (ST&I) Grant Fund which supports applied and policy oriented research as well as technological Innovation.

Areas of Science, Mathematics, Engineering, and Technology will be given a priority. The grant is aimed to increase the participation of women in research-based science careers and ensure a sufficient number of outstanding women researchers and innovators are available to support a knowledge-based economy.

Each application must contain: a duly filled application form, detailed proposal, CVs of the principal researcher/innovator and members of the team together with copies of Identity Cards.

Applications with incomplete content or received after the deadline will not be accepted.

Those who have received ST&I fund recently are not eligible.

The NCST encourages multi-institutional/collaborative approach in research proposal development and implementation.

Successful research or innovation project shall be funded up to a maximum of Kenya Shillings two (2) million and the project duration should not exceed two years.

Applications, in both hard and soft copy, should be submitted to the address below or delivered to Utalii House, 8th floor Room 822.
