  • Liaise with relevant programmes to ensure synergies and complementarity

Key Performance Indicators:

  • Improved public perception of education (and the MoES’ role in it) as an economically and socially worthwhile investment for their children’s and Uganda’s future;
  • Public citations of data generated by SESIL (e.g. in media);
  • Numbers and degree of engagement with digital platforms (e.g. website, social media, WhatsApp groups)
  • Key stakeholders’ use of, and satisfaction with, information and knowledge-sharing tools that will be required

  • Experience of managing multi-media campaigns
  • A strong understanding of the issues facing Uganda’s education sector

  • Experience and contacts with traditional press and broadcast media
  • Proven ability to think and act both strategically and tactically
  • Understanding of the different needs, communication channels and incentives for change among government (MoES), education professionals and communities/parents.
  • Expertise in communicating data and other information concisely both visually (e.g. infographics) and in writing in a way that engages the interest and support of different audiences, including via radio;
  • Strong social media skills, particularly in WhatsApp and other popular channels in Uganda, as well as the mainstream media;
