Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work with MOH to review the package for community health workforce including i.e. VHTs including; roles, responsibilities and coordination structures
- Work with the Ministry of health to operationalize the community health workforce register
- Work with MoH and districts to strengthen the capacity of community health workforce including; development and review oi training curriculum and other materials.
- Contribute to the development of key policy and strategic documents including; the community health strategy and policy, health promotion and disease prevention guidelines among others
- Promote data-driven practices to improve retention, motivation and productivity of the community health workforce
- Engage and work with district leadership to develop performance plans for the community health workforce
- Work with MoH Regional Referral Hospitals, District Local Government Structures and IPs to coordinate supportive supervision activities for the community health workforce
- Work with MoH, District Local Governments, Regional implementing Partners to ensure functionality of Health Unit Management Committees (HUMCs)
- Coordinate with the M&E team to design and implement monitoring and evaluation plans to document impact, lessons and best practices resulting from the implementation’ of community systems strengthening activities
- Contribute to the development of USAID UHSS work plans and progress reports
- Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding. This is pan of BRAC‘s global policy on safeguarding, and the incumbent will be trained on it.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s degree in social sciences or health related field. A postgraduate training with a focus on health worker’ education, and or management is an added advantage
- At least five years of work experience in health system design, performance management and monitoring & evaluation
- Demonstrated experience working with Community Health workforce
- Experience establishing national, district level programs, protocols and procedures in community health
- Track record of consensus building and managing relationships with a range of stakeholders across sectors, at both national and subnational / district.
