About US:
The Leadership Code (Amendment) Act 2017 established the Leadership Code Tribunal, consisting of a Chairperson, Deputy Chairperson and three other Members. For effective performance of the functions of the Tribunal, the Act provides for a Registrar of the Tribunal, other Officers and Staff as may be necessary. Section 19 A (2) provides that the Officers and staff of the Tribunal shall be appointed by the Public Service Commission, on terms and conditions determined by the Public Service Commission.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Preparing legal drafts by assembling and organizing information for legal forms and documents, including complaints, declarations, discovery requests, responses, and other pleadings;
- Maintaining and updating the Case Register;
- Assisting in researching by studying Laws, Statutes, Constitutions, Regulations, Court opinions, including precedents and reasoning;
- Assisting in assembling case materials by collecting and organizing information, documents, reports, and evidence;
- Preparing for trial by preparing trial briefs, exhibits, subpoenas, evidence, and motions;
- Maintaining a calendar by entering and updating requirements, court dates, and meetings;
- Any other duties as maybe assigned from time to time.
