ERNEST & YOUNG BURSARIES AVAILABLE
Candidates for bursaries should have a solid belief, as well as a commitment to becoming qualified in the field of Chartered Accountant (SA). Their academic records must portray this and their financial situation should confirm the need for financial assistance.
Successful candidates will be required to sign a three years’ service agreement with Ernest & Young that will commence upon successful completion of studies (Honors degree).
Bursaries from Ernest & Young will be available for students who are currently studying or who would like to study in the following fields:
- BCom Accounting
- BAcc Business Science
- CTA
- HNS
Candidates who are currently studying must be following the CA stream and also candidates that are studying into equivalent directions need to be following the field of study.
ERNEST & YOUNG BURSARIES REQUIREMENTS
When applying for a bursary from Ernest & Young candidates will be required to have the following:
- Certified copy of ID book
- Must be a South African citizen
- Must proof the need for financial assistance
- A complete CV
- Matric certificate
- Academic record that is up to date
- English ‘C’ Grade or higher on ‘Higher Grade’ received in your June exam if you are currently still doing your Matric.
- Pure Mathematics ‘C’ Grade or higher on ‘Higher Grade’ received in your June exam if you are currently still doing your Matric.
- A minimum of 60% is needed if you are already studying towards a BComm degree or corresponding degree at any SAICA accredited institute. This symbol will be required for your year-end result unless you are currently in your 1st year whereas it needs to be achieved in your June exams.

ERNEST & YOUNG BURSARIES CLOSING DATE
Closing date for bursary applications differ. Candidates can apply for a variety of bursaries from February to the end of September each year. Students must ensure that all documents and forms are completed correctly and submitted beforehand to avoid disappointment as no late entries will be accepted. Please ensure that the forms are completed fully and all relevant documentation is certified and attached to your application before submitting.
