ESAMI Uganda Business School TRAPCA Postgraduate Diploma WTO Law Course Details
Course Duration and Delivery
The duration of each of the short courses under the Diploma will in general be two weeks and the delivery of a course will mainly be intensive on-site learning activities in residence at trapca/ESAMI campus. The on-site training will be preceded by preparatory readings and related exercises. The language of instruction will be English.
Pedagogical Approaches
The instructional methods for the short courses will aim at providing learners with work-related skills and high retention rates of the knowledge imparted. In this regard, the pedagogy will incorporate multi-modal delivery mechanisms for course materials (e.g. case studies, in-field situational tasks, simulation and role playing, and presentation of course exercises and tasks).
Certification and Evaluation
Participants of short courses under the Diploma Programme can obtain any of the three following certifications:
1. A Post Graduate Diploma Certificate in WTO Law and Dispute Settlement if they successfully complete all the 3 compulsory modules together with any three electives plus the research paper.
2. A Certificate of Competence if they successfully satisfy the requirements for any of the individual modules but fail to satisfy the requirements for the diploma.
3. A Certificate of Attendance if they attend and participate in at least 80 per cent of the scheduled lectures, but they either do not pass the final written exam of the modules or do not meet specific requirements of the module they attend.
For participants doing a diploma short course, the total evaluation will be spread over class attendance, result on final written examination and result on other specific requirements.
Other Information
Disciplinary Actions against Plagiarism Plagiarism is viewed very seriously, and disciplinary actions will be taken against participants for any kind of attempted malpractice in examinations and assessments. The penalty that may be imposed includes suspension from the programme.
Programme Evaluation
Programme appraisal, tracer studies and impact assessment will form an important part of trapca’s training and capacity building process.
