Job Summary:  The Finance and Administrative Assistant will manage the DFID funded Commercial Agriculture for Smallholders and Agribusiness (CASA) project’s administration and accounting for programme in Kampala.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • General office administration, including managing supplies;
  • Provide administrative and logistical support to the  Uganda Country team and short-term consultants;
  • Responsible for project vehicle maintenance;
  • Line management of the Uganda driver;
  • Inventory and maintenance of physical and digital files and assets;
  • Update and maintain office policies and manuals;
  • Manage and report monthly programme expenditure;
  • Prepare the monthly country forecasts;
  • Ensure the office is tax compliant;
  • Coordinate logistics of project meetings and events;
  • Prepare meeting materials as appropriate;
  • Coordinate and support in country travel arrangements;
  • Facilitate internal communication within the Country Office.
  • Support in compiling monthly monitoring data for the Country Office.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 

  • The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s degree required within a financial field;
  • At least five years of finance and administrative experience;
  • Experience of donor funded programmes;
  • Proficiency in MS Office with expertise in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook;
  • Ability to analyse and revise operating practices to improve efficiency;
  • Detail oriented and comfortable working in a fast-paced office environment;
  • Exceptional communication skills in English;
  • Superior organisational skills and dedication to completing tasks in a timely manner;
  • Driver’s license is considered an asset.
