About the Role:
As a Finance Controller (General Ledger), you will be a vital leader in our finance department, driving operational excellence and ensuring the integrity of our financial operations. You’ll be responsible for overseeing key financial processes, providing strategic guidance, and ensuring robust financial controls. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will play a crucial role in supporting M-KOPA’s mission.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Overseeing the accounts payable and inventory processes.
- Owning the month-end closure process.
- Supervising, training, and guiding the finance team in adherence to M-KOPA’s financial policies.
- Developing partnerships and maintaining relationships with key business stakeholders.
- Conducting ad-hoc reporting and analysis, particularly in relation to operations.
- Overseeing the purchase order process and operational actions affecting financial reporting.
- Ensuring the integrity and accuracy of all transactions in the General Ledger.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or a related field.
- Membership in a Professional Accountancy Body (ACCA/CPA preferred).
- Experience in audit and with financial ERPs (Microsoft Dynamics is an added advantage).
- At least two years of operational finance experience.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, planning, and organizational skills.
- Entrepreneurial, commercial thinking with excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Attention to detail, leadership, and excellent interpersonal skills.
